SOFIA MERIE CHUA MARAVILLAS

Sofia was born and raised in New Jersey, USA. She is the daughter of two incredibly hard-working and amazingly supportive Filipino immigrants. She grew up in the Filipino-town of Bergen County New Jersey and decided to take a path that her parents did not get to have as an option.

Sofia is currently a senior at Boston University pursuing a BFA in Stage Management. Sofia has managed to finish complete her degree in 3 years and is now expected to graduate in May 2026.

As a stage manager and an Asian-American woman in the arts she hopes to pave the way for other children, students, and peers to pursue a career in the arts. She hopes to find a way to encourage and allow more creatives of color to join the arts and take a path that may seem impossible for those like her.

Sofia hopes to make her way into every type of live performance possible in her career and to show others that it is possible to do more than what you think is meant for you!
